MEMBER SERVICES: Case Studies

Case of the MonthCase Archives

ASCCP is pleased to present "Case Studies in Colposcopy," an ongoing membership service. This program is monitored by the ASCCP National Office and ASCCP Education Committee. This program has been designed within the goals and objectives of ASCCP, and helps to promote clinical practice and basic research in the field of surgical pathology. This program also helps to promote the basic goal of the Society, which is to improve communications between the gynecologist, pathologist, cytopathologist, other healthcare personnel and physicians in the application of colposcopy within gynecological practice. The program is designed to help promote clinical practice and basic research in the field of lower genital tract pathology.

Each month, the Society will post a new "Case of the Month" that is open to all healthcare providers. Participants may review the case history and images, selecting the best answer to the case questions asked. The answers are then provided. All past "Cases of the Month" are stored under "Case Archives." Archived cases are open only to ASCCP members. If you enjoy "Case Studies in Colposcopy," you may wish to also try the Society’s, "Home Study Course Classics" self-assessment program also found on this website.

All cases are reviewed for scientific relevance and validity prior to posting. As with CME programs, these cases are valid for up to 3 years, at which point they are re-reviewed for content validity.

All Case Studies in Colposcopy are under full copyright to ASCCP. Whenever an author holds copyright in a particular image, the copyright will be acknowledged.

The clinical history and images in these online cases may represent actual cases, but not always. To improve educational quality some gross, cytologic or histologic images may come from photographic libraries. Good teaching cases are often difficult to obtain, and we encourage our readers to submit cases with high quality images to the Home Study Course editor or executive editor to consider for publication.
